- Community Kitchen: Thank you to Gary & Sandy Montgomery, Marie Crawford, Bob McCrady, Bob Foster, Warren Spangler, new kid on the block, Jim Hooks! 151 meals this month.
- Applications for Drexel Poling Service Above Self Award for community members- please see Michele Lanman for application. Due last week of May.
- May will be a diaper drive – please bring in child diapers – larger sizes are in more need. Bottoms Up out of Lancaster will be the recipient.

- Law Day with Circleville Sunrise is May 5th – 7am-8am. Krista Bower taking reservations. Meeting is at Presbyterian Church.
- Scouting Mayor’s Breakfast – Thursday, May 7th, 7:30am, Emmett Chapel on Tarlton Rd. Honorees will be Randy Beach and Ohio Christian University. See Joe McNemar to sign up. $50 per person or sponsorships available.
- May 9th, Mt. Oval Pioneer Cabin Dedication Ceremony. RSVP by May 6th – 740-497-0612.

- Ohio Rising: People Making Choices written with a grant from the America 250 committee by Chris Matheney
- It covers Ohio Country c1774-1803
- What does Ohio have to do with the American Revolution? We helped start the “Resolves” (we were part of the Virginia colonies at the time)
- Liberty is what all the Resolves had in common – protection of liberty and rights
- Suffolk Resolve – first resolution by Dr. Joseph Warren author – Paul Revere delivered to Philadelphia in 1774. Resolution to end trade with Britain, Ireland & West Indies, create militias to fight off British,
- Fort Gower Resolve – last one written by Frontier folk in Ohio. It was an expression of defiance to the crown as the American Revolution was about to begin
