  • Lunch:  Fried chicken with sausage gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans; steak with onions salad

Club Announcements: 

  • Soup Kitchen April 28th – 232 meals served, which means 464 hot dogs with buns; tater tots; baked beans; oatmeal cookies – we ran out of everything but hot dogs/buns and had substitutes from the church. We were packing meals from 4:20pm-6pm. Thank you Rob, Warren, Jayme and her mother-in-law, Bob Mc, John Ellis, Julia Weller, David & Marie. Alice Harker kept us going! We need your help – fourth Monday of every month.
  • Please pay your invoice by June 1st for (July 2025-June 2026 dues)
  • Drexel Poling Service Above Self Award for community members –  nomination deadline June 5th. See Michele Lanman for application.

Community Events: 

  • May 4th – Musical Tribute for Mary Ruth Tolbert 2pm-4pm at Mount Oval. Free Admission with Reservations required – contact Historical Society.
  • May 16th – YMCA fundraiser at Rhoadhouse 56: Bourbon & BBQ 6-9pm $50 pre-register, $60 at the door
  • May 17th – 8am-noon Savings Bank Shred It Day at the Circleville Middle school
  • June 6th – Special Olympics “Pieing for a purpose” – Pumpkin Show Park – see Matt Hafey if you want to get pied or help in any way

  • May is mental health awareness month
  • 1/5th of all adults have had a mental health condition (from anxiety, to bi-polar, depression, PTSD, postpartum, etc.)
  • 1 in 20 Americans live with major mental health disorder
  • 1 in 10 Ohio students have attempted suicide in a 12 month period
  • Three main factors to mental health conditions:  biological factors, life experiences, family history of mental health problems
  • Ohio’s “Beat the Stigma” – marketing campaign addressing mental health and substance abuse

  • Alzheimer’s Walk – #endalz. It’s an awareness opportunity, not 5K
  • MVCH Park, Sept. 6th – create teams and fundraisers 
  • Alzheimer’s Association provides education programs, 24/7 help line, support groups
  • Flowers of their logo mean different support levels – caregiver, lost someone, monetary supporter

    • 7 million American’s living with Dementia/Alzheimer’s is a subgroup
    • Age, Family History and Genetics determine your risk 
    • Women are more likely to develop Alzheimer’s but are also the most caregivers
