Program: Sid Liming – Soldier’s Monumental Association
- Non-profit organization
- Survey local cemeteries to ensure headstones and bronze markers are in good repair
- Walk of Remembrance outside museum – brick memorial for anyone who served. The cost of the bricks is being used for paying off the canon outside the museum.
- Museum in Memorial Hall had some damage with roof leak and is currently closed
- Work with local school districts for museum tours
- American flags during Memorial Day and organize and conduct parade
- Memorial Hall built Dec. 29, 1891 by Civil War veterans. On historical places registry.
- County provides the markers and Monumental Association administers
- If Amvets are at a military funeral, the Association provides them with the marker to present to the family
- Markers are $50/piece if they have to be replaced
- Yearly costs – Memorial Day $10,000; Darbyville Civil War plaque $6,000; plaque at the courthouse; Wreaths Across America for High Street cemetery and help at Forest Cemetery
