Club Announcements:  

  1. Euchre tournament Feb. 27th, 6:00pm at Rhoadhouse 56. Play as individual. Eventbrite for tickets.
  2. Jan. 24th – Dueling Piano’s – Sunrise Rotary fundraiser for Inspiration Station. Our board approved buying 5 tickets in support of our sister club – the tickets will be the second drawing today.
  3. Winter Assembly, Feb. 28th at Newark – $25 fee will be reimbursed by club
  4. Four Way test contest and RYLA work starting 
  5. Community Kitchen – Monday 4:00pm 
  6. Brazil team What’sApp – Ty has a site set up if you want to stay connected
  7. Peace Pole – will be put up on the courthouse after historical review board approval
  8. Dues increase effective July 2026 up $50 to $265. March 1st invoice will show the increase. This is a result of the RI and District dues increasing – the current dues are not leaving enough to cover the work we want to do.

Program:  Bill Grindle, Rotary District Foundation Chair 

  • Bill thanked our club for our efforts over the years – Last year’s foundation giving of $11,519 to the annual fund and $5735 to Polio Plus turned into $17,206 because of the gates foundation 2-1 match of Polio dollars
  • 28,677 children can live polio free because of just our club efforts
  • We have 17 – members donating to the 125 club
  • Our clubs history has 45 Paul Harris Fellows
  • We currently have 6 members in the Paul Harris Society – signing up to pledge $1,000 each year
  • Once a Major Donor – you are remembered at events even after you pass as was shown in Bill’s presentation, remembering Dannie Fouts, Susanne Phillips and Jim Rivers as Level 1 Donors. He thanked Charlie and Mollie Hedges and Dick Patrick as Level 2 Donors
  • David and Marie have added the Foundation in their wills and are recognized as Bequest Society Members
  • Charity Navigator has awarded their highest 4 star award to the RI Foundation for the last 17 consecutive years

The Presidential charity is Soldiers Monumental Society – caring for the graves of our service men and women
