Club Announcements:  

  1. The first 20 members registering for the Zone Conference in Columbus will be reimbursed $50. Saturday (Sept. 6th) only ticket is $150. Deadline is August 24th. Registration is: https://www.rizones30-31.org/institute/2025-columbus/. 
  2. Root beer tub for donations is now posted on the check in table
  3. Bob Foster is working on t-shirts and polo shirts. First order for polo’s will be for those going to Zone Institute first weekend in September – please sign up or call Bob so he can get it ordered. Logo is on file at both Ink My Logo and Red Barn. 
  4. 10th Annual Farm to Plate: will be at AmVets catered by Chef Alfonso who catered the first one. Thursday, September 4th. Bob Liggett will be the honoree. Please see Carly for sponsorships. Yourpccf.org for tickets
  5. Steve Tomerson let us know about Sunrise Rotary’s bench program for downtown. Each are over 1000 pounds so they are not going to walk away. Fundraiser is $50 Big Ten conference pool – see Steve if you are interested. 
  6. Raymund Balallo – Crown Hill Foundation’s Community Cancer Fund: If you know of anyone who is going through cancer treatment – please see the application on the website. Crownhillgolfclub.com/foundations/ccf 70% of funds will go to a patient and 30% to a caregiver.
  7. Board meeting recap : Our club will support the Turkey Trot; $250 to Community Cupboard; Start collecting canned goods for community cupboards thru September (and will get a strip of scholarship tickets until bean is found); Rotary Whistles are back! for Halloween
  8. Sept. 25th Honor Flight for Jim Rogers and Nov. 6th for Charlie Hedges

Program:  Pickaway County Developmental Disability advocacy program

  • Jordan  Olivares- self-advocate
    • Support and represent those who need help to advocate for themselves
    • Facilititate services for clients
    • Promoting positive change through policy 
    • Accessibility in the community – helped a local business in Orient and 12 other business with ramps
    • State wide Blue envelope campaign and wallet size (sign up through the program – blue envelope information is tagged within the police department system and a card can be presented to the police.) If you are stopped the info that a person cannot make eye contact, or has other issues an officer should know. 
    • Collaborating with Ross County advocacy 
  • Mike Rogers on the board working on the advocacy group also on hand for questions
