BOARD APPROVAL: The board has approved membership for Larry Logan. Ty Ankrom is his sponsor and will be inducted during an upcoming meeting.

  • Soup Kitchen thank you’s- David C, Bob McCrady, Warren, Heidi, Norm & Anita, Gary & Sandy. Yes, over 190 meals are now being served. We were serving 60 meals back in 2019.
  • Wreaths Across America – $17 with payment due next week. Nov. 7th
  • Sock-tober! – today is the last day to collect socks and cash. Next week we reveal the final count. Thank you to all who participated.

Scholarship Drawing:  Suzie Reeves won the weekly drawing for $18 and donated it back. Big Bean is $319, and continues to grow!

Program:  Mark Maier – Pet Taxidermy

  • About 10 years ago Mark decided to go away from wildlife to pets
  • Taxidermy means “removing skin”
  • Mark started in 1975 by reading books since there were no schools for training
  • Has been doing taxidermy part or full time since 1975
  • He has a whole family business with wife and children involved with a total of 8 employees
  • 475 dogs/cats/birds/reptiles were done 2 years ago
  • His location is next to Interstate Battery on Rt.23
  • All over North America send pets to Mark
  • Around 250 people a year would like their pet’s heart preserved
  • People love their animals and want to keep them close, they will pay for taxidermy which can be in the thousands of dollars
  • They provide a life-time guarantee on their work
