Club Announcements:  

  1. District Award – for Heidi’s year “in appreciation for the financial support of End Polio Now: Countdown to History Campaign. Together, we will fulfill our promise to the children of the world and eradicate polio.”
  2. Month of November – Club’s Toys for Tots collection – if you bring in something (unwrapped) you get a strip of raffle tickets
  3. See Gary Montgomery to buy a wreath for $17 a piece – Wreaths Across America. Circleville Rotary is donating 30 wreaths for Soldiers Glen.
  4. November 12th next board meeting
  5. Hilliard Great Debate: $80 if you want to be part of this event on Friday, Nov. 21st from 10:30-1:30pm. Fundraiser for Hilliard Rotary.
  6. Bonus Community Kitchen: 4:00pm until 5:30pm ’ish is Monday, 10th z

Community Events:

  • Turkey Trot – November 27th, 9:00am. We are sponsors – sign up for fun morning
  • Blessings in a Backpack fundraiser – Zwicker House for purse auction – Dec. 2nd. See Paula Routt for tickets ($25 which includes hors d’oeuvres)
  • Jingle Bell Party – Mount Oval-Sunday Dec. 14th; 2-4pm $10/child; $5 per parent. Contact historical society 740-474-1495 for reservations by Dec. 10th. Children in grades 1-4

Scholarship Drawing:  There was a drawing with Tony Chamberlain winning the day’s pot $35, but not the $1,235.

Program: Melissa McConnell from Glenlaurel Scottish Inn & Cottages, Resident Innkeeper

  • The Inn is located in Rockbridge, OH for 31 years
  • You can stay in a cottage, room, suite, wee croft (small cottage)
  • Has a restaurant – one seating a night for 6 or 7 course meal at 6:30pm. Open to the public if not full with guests
  • A couple has spent over 300 nights there
  • Adult only, no children or pets
  • Original innkeeper/owner was Michael MacDonald – he had a vision and ground was broken and built to his dream
  • 140 acres: pickelball, horseshoes, fire pits, private trails, etc.
  • max capacity 44 guests – 22 rooms/cottages
  • No network TV
  • Three business men in Columbus own
  • Melissa and her husband are on site
  • No rooms can accommodate more than two people, but a group can reserve multiple rooms
  • Three course breakfast for everyone on site
  • Dickens Dinner is upcoming – costumed reader during dinner
  • Anniversaries are celebrated with a custom made plate
