Executive Board highlights:
1. Rotary District 6690 conference is April 28-29. There are cost breakdowns for single and half-day attendance. Rotarians are urged to participate
2. No new member applications.
3. Warren provided highlights from the statewide conference for incoming presidents
4. D. Crawford noted that new members to the club are quickly becoming active and leading projects
5. Karlyn, Stacy, Jayme and Carly are putting together a Euchre tournament for June 1 to raise scholarship funds
6. Paula is chairing the drive to collect womens products. Circleville currently in 2nd place in the District for collection total
7. Daryl and Rob started a second date for Rotary food kitchen. 90+ meals served last week.
8. B. Stout chairing the Service Above Self selection committee with Ty and M. Lanman. Application deadline is April 10
5. Ian and D. Crawford are moving forward with new member orientation sessions
6 Ellery asked for board approval to remove the final two Rotary accounts held by US Bank. Motion passed.
7. Rural Urban Day was a great success. Approx. 40 Rotarians and approx. 50 guests in attendance. Cost to club was $1,800. Discussion took place as to how to manage the cost of future Rural/Urban days.
8. The 4-Way speech contest was very successful with a large field of applicants. Many thanks to Tony Robinson and his committee.
9. Ellery went over Rotary financials. Board approved.
10. The April 18 executive board meeting will be utilized to put final touches on leadership and committee assignments for the 2023-24 Rotary year. Drexel and Ellery also will review the different financial accounts for the new directors.
Announcements
- Soup Kitchen extra: last week we started our new rotation of the second Monday of every other month. Rob Radcliff thanked his wife Dodie, Daryl Wolfe, Warren Spangler, David and Marie Crawford. We are now seeing 90 meals being requested, so help from members is needed. We had a tour of the church’s kitchen supplies – they will accept monetary donations, as as well food items.
- Rob is also next year’s Program Chair – we are looking for program chairs for April/May/June. If you would like to sign up, please see Rob.
- Gary Montgomery: our fourth Monday Soup Kitchen is this coming Monday at 4:00pm. If you can make it, please let Gary know.
- Joe McNemar: Have a meal at City BBQ on March 31st between 11am-8pm and tell them you are there for the Boy Scout Troop 52 fundraiser. Proceeds will help scouts attend Camp Falling Rock this summer.
- “March Madness for Women” Last collection is next Thursday. We are in second place in our district! Help finish strong.
- Tony Robinson: Nine students competed in last Saturday’s Four-Way speech contest. Sunrise Rotary co-sponsored the event. Thanks to Tom Duvall, Ellery Elick, Connie Chamberlain, Bill Kramer, Sr. Monica Justinger for working the event, Warren Spangler, Gary Dean, David & Marie Crawford for attending. Our two first prize winners will compete in the District contest at Columbus State, April 28th.

Scholarship Drawing: Marie was the winner of $36. The jackpot is $1,082 and it continues!
Program: Megan Moorman – CHS FFA
- Megan worked for Pickaway Ross for 7 years and she started first ag program at Circleville High School. She won the 2022 Ohio Association of Agricultural Educators Early Career Teacher award.
- Megan is joined today, in their official FFA uniforms, by CHS First FFA President, Sterlin Mullins; CHS First FFA Secretary, Allie Mullins; CHS First FFA Student Advisor, Lillianna Stafford; CHS First FFA Development Chair, Emma Groff
- Supervised Agricultural Experience(SAE): Each student participates in activities (it’s not all farm based): Sterlin & Allie Mullins have turkey’s; “Ag for All” Podcast was created by Pickaway County Fair Queen Lillianna Stafford; Tutoring in schools is Emma Groff’s SAE.
- Lab activities included harvesting strawberry DNA
- Learning about the different components of Agriculture; woodworking, construction projects, Animal and Plant Science, Ag Business
- Career Development Event – compete against other chapters . Livestock sales, Public Speaking, Dairy Quality, etc.
- CHS FFA chapter has 115 members
- They have been involved with: Tree Planting; National convention; Operation Christmas Child Boxes; Toured Ag campus at OSU; Community Breakfast at the Fairgrounds April 4th 6am-10am; Farm To Plate dinner servers
