  5. Community Cupboard has 24 cupboards around the county with 14 just in Circleville. Today our Club is proud to donate $250 for the cause and we are still collecting items.
  6. If anyone has left over bricks – please see Gary Montgomery. They are collecting bricks for Mt. Oval.
  7. PAAC – event at OCU talking about mental health. Breakout sessions will also be part of the program. Volunteers are needed – please see Michele Lanman.
  8. Larry Logan updates on Ted Lewis Park – all new basketball courts, all softball lights with LED, original dugouts are being replaced next week (first time in 80 years), hope is by next year will have the new shelter house with snack bar. Still $179,000 short…hint, hint… PCCF holds the funds, so please donate

  • Nightbirde Foundation was started as a tribute to Jane Marczewski – a Golden Buzzer winner on America’s Got Talent and a terminal breast cancer patient who passed away in 2022 at the age of 31
  • Jane’s brother, Mitch, is the CEO of the foundation which brings hope to cancer patients with Gifts of Hope boxes and grants to help women afford care
  • District Conference last year we made Gifts of Hope boxes and wanted to combine the efforts between the Circleville and Chillicothe clubs
  • Planning for all four clubs to get together in October is still in the works…stay tuned.  The boxes will cost between $35-$40 each.
  • Donations are being collected from members – please give your money to Daryl. The club will also be making a donation.
  • Berger is on board for accepting the boxes for their patients.

    • Support and represent those who need help to advocate for themselves
    • Facilititate services for clients
    • Promoting positive change through policy 
    • Accessibility in the community – helped a local business in Orient and 12 other business with ramps
    • State wide Blue envelope campaign and wallet size (sign up through the program – blue envelope information is tagged within the police department system and a card can be presented to the police.) If you are stopped the info that a person cannot make eye contact, or has other issues an officer should know.

  • Roundtown rascals – theatre basics for children (monthly classes during school year)
  • Theatre’s impact on the community – help kids grow confidence and stronger students, local economy impacts
  • RTP provides Scholarships for fine arts students 
  • 19 local acts wanted to perform for the variety show – made $5,200 last year. Will be doing it again this year!

  • Mentorship has proven to: empower, fulfill, inspire, serve, protect, heal, encourage and defend
  • It takes Little to be Big (doing the little things will be the big impact) – Ice Cream, ball games, library, Ted Lewis park, walking the trails at MVCH Park
  • October 18, 2025 – dance for Kids’ Sake fundraiser (looking for corporate sponsors)

  • Every dollar raised goes to help the kids in Pickaway County
  • 2021 – heard a need about kids needing shoes (Samaritan Shoe Fund was started)
  • Anne’s Smiles was founded to be more than the Shoe Fund and has expanded to all needs of children : Backpack blessing; Hygiene Packs; Emergency Clothing; Puberty Kits for 5th graders; Visions of Hope – eyeglass program; Lending Tackle Box (borrow fishing poles, bait, lures at Slate Run); Outdoor Mission Work
  • All shopping is done for each individual student. We want to make the child feel like they fit in and are cared for
  • All four local school districts are served through recommendations from the school
  • It’s not just homeless students being helped – there are two parent households who just can’t make ends meet
  • 2021-2024
    • Students per school district: 321 Circleville; 237 Teays Valley; 145 Logan Elm; 166 Westfall
    • Of the 870 students helped: 151 were unhoused and 152 had special needs
    • 1,878 puberty kits; 1,390 pairs of underwear; 596 pairs of shoes & socks; 156 backpacks; 197 emergency clothing requests; 391 hygiene packs; 6 eye exams and glasses
    • 25,000+ items donated
  • All schools have showers and students are being pulled from classes to clean up
  • Annessmiles.org; it is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit, all donations are tax deductible

Program: Casey Liddy – the response to the evacuation of Berger Hospital

  • One month ago yesterday – June 18th – Ohio Health leadership day in Columbus. Casey and his head nurse got the call.
  • Failure of a pump – fan blade broke and overheated an engine and smoke filled the hospital
  • Fire department ordered the evacuation of the hospital
  • Leadership team of the hospital evacuated 70 patients and all staff under an hour.
  • There was a field hospital in the parking lot when Casey arrived
  • CHS was established as a med/surg unit for those about to be discharged – CHS created secure Wi-Fi for Epic coverage which was seamless care
  • 7pm next night ED was open
  • 900 sets of surgical instruments were sterilized by Monday thanks to other facilities opening their doors and equipment with staff working hard to get it done
  • Recovery has gone very well – root cause analysis is being done currently
  • Casey ended his presentation with this: “Neighbors came with water and tents and things I will never know. I am grateful.”

Hopefully will have 600 Rotarian from over 13 states at the conference. The service project will be packing over 60,000 meals which will be staying in our zones. Program: Wayne Gray, Director of Crossroads Christian Academy

  • 105 students currently
  • Pre-school has been running for 28 years – currently with 60 students
  • Goal is to continue to grow facilities so all grades can be under one roof
  • Crossroads is a charter school – if a student leaves a public school the charter school gets half of the money going to the public school
  • Crossroads uses scholarship funding available as well
  • Charter schools are affiliated for many things; faith, culture, STEM
  • Crossroads is too small for athletic programs – partner with New Hope
  • Crossroads covers 7 school districts with only 15 students per class
  • Music program is well-known
  • Do use state testing as a guideline for students
  • Looking for scholarship opportunities for students and will be on the list for Four-Way Speech contest for next year
  • Four seniors will be graduating next year
  • Crossroads is in Logan Elm school district, but anyone in Circleville or Logan Elm can use school busses for New Hope and Crossroads students. Next year 5-12th grades at the Ohio Street address will go to Crossroads and be transported to Ohio Street building.

  • U.S.KidsGolf – Red Crown Golf Academy
  • Golf teaching program that families in all levels of society can afford
  • Using golf as a vessel to teach youth life values, people skill, hard work, dedication and skill they will use throughout their lives
